Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kaká Ferreira kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 5th minute of play forced Atlético de Crisal's goalkeeper Cido Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 6th minute. After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Miguel Miralles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cido Valle quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Romarinho Silva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. In the 11th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute Haroldo Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romarinho Silva during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cido Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Atlético de Crisal's Cido Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 44th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cido Valle. Atlético de Crisal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off.
