Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Moises Fernandino took the kick off in the first half of the match. Connor Alsop made in the 3rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fergus Fairbairn. Fergus Fairbairn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jorge Magrina might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fergus Fairbairn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Magrina ran back to his position shaking his head. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers FC's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Danny Gilespie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Stevie McGilvray hit a great ball. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Rangers FC from getting a goal against them. In the 37th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moises Fernandino to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute of the match Connor Alsop shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. El Salvador's attentive Valentino Ferrant managed to snatch the ball when Ronan McLaws made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Abram Luque left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. 64 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Ron McLeish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 71st minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 77th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie McGilvray in the 79th minute of play. Danny Gilespie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. El Salvador had won after a very even match.
