Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fred Hellqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Felix Sundberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kumla BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 12th match minute, Kumla BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Sundberg to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Hellqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Salqvist struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kumla BK. 16 minutes into the match, Kumla BK's goalkeeper Fred Hellqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, Kumla BK's Fred Hellqvist got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kumla BK's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Hellqvist came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Fred Hellqvist made a huge save. Cristian Sancho in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fred Hellqvist, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 26th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Hellqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Fred Hellqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Kumla BK's David Östman got a free kick in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Fred Hellqvist in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Calle Vester came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Kumla BK's Felix Sundberg got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Peter Salqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute of the match, Alvin Bäckman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 69th minute of play forced Kumla BK's goalkeeper Fred Hellqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Kumla BK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Peter Salqvist could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Hellqvist having to interfere. Fred Hellqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Hellqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Hellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Salqvist in the 92nd minute. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
