In the 9th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisão Brito. Airborne FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Airborne FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wanderson Silveira in the 18th minute of play. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Luisão Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Carlinhos Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Airborne FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Carlinhos Vianna hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Airborne FC's Luisão Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 43rd minute, when Airborne FC's Hélio Terra after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Benito Sanz in Costa Rica's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the game, Alfredo Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Airborne FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Airborne FC's Percival de Mendonça. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Airborne FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Eliseo Noboa scored to the left of an out of position Luisão Brito, making the score, 0-2. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Percival de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Airborne FC's protests and gave Percival de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Airborne FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Percival de Mendonça hit a great ball. Airborne FC's Hélio Terra was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 74 minutes, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Tasis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 88 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Luisão Brito in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Although Airborne FC had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
