The supporters of Venezuela booed when LA VIOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Overdal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Svante Bäckman came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Osvald Uter came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aron Overdal to make the kick off. Felix Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Albert Rutledge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Overdal in the 60th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, LA VIOLA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isak Ahlbeck to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felix Martinsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svante Bäckman in the 71st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. LA VIOLA's Albert Rutledge got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute of play forced LA VIOLA's goalkeeper Felix Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes LA VIOLA got a freekick which was hit by Aron Overdal. When Mihăiţă Cârstoiu fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LA VIOLA's protests and gave Mihăiţă Cârstoiu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to LA VIOLA getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Mihăiţă Cârstoiu hit a great ball. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Venezuela could leave the field as winners, despite LA VIOLA having more of the ball for most of the match.
