The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the match, Claudinho do Vale notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 20 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Camargo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Fernando Peixoto saved Bezerros EC from getting behind. Clóvis Camargo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bezerros EC. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Bezerros EC's Claudinho do Vale fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Almir Freitas hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Claudinho do Vale struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bezerros EC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 47th minute of play forced Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Almir Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinho do Vale in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudinho do Vale went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 65th minute of play forced Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho do Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Miranda in the 68th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fernando Peixoto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Camargo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Kléber Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bezerros EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 84 played minutes Bezerros EC got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Paiva. It was beautiful to see Venezuela's Camilo Gaos in action when he in the 85th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Arantes in the 87th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Almir Freitas threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
