Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Daniel Zorita made the kick off which started today's match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaizka Mendieta in the 4th minute of play. Tiger were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christo Bothenhain took the corner. The corner ended in Christo Bothenhain almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pentti Ojala got free with Julio Vera in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 10 minutes Tiger's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Agustín Saelices was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 19 played minutes Tiger got a freekick which was hit by Iwo Sawicki. In the 27th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Pentti Ojala dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Gaizka Mendieta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thilo Heß in the 39th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iwo Sawicki in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the game, Thilo Heß was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tiger's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 45 played minutes Tiger got a freekick which was hit by Thilo Heß. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Josef Witlatschil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Tiger's Josef Witlatschil got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Tiger booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Christo Bothenhain came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiger were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Américo Baehr took the corner. The corner ended in Gaizka Mendieta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 89th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiger's goalkeeper Josef Witlatschil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Tiger players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
