In the 27thth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tarcisio Couto. Armando Graack hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute of the match Axel Montenegro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo Dante skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Severiano Arano hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Breno Loyola could shoot a difficult shot in the 35th minute, which Pedro Manzanares however easily saved by the left post. Haroldo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 40th minute of play. Colombia's Axel Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Aníbal Sá made the kick off in the second half. Haroldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Axel Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Haroldo Dante. That made the score 1-1 after 53 minutes of play. In the 56th minute Joshua Garrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. Haroldo Dante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santino Seco in the 62nd minute. Haroldo Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Montenegro in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haroldo Dante saved Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting behind. Haroldo Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Antonio Indiano hit a great ball. When Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Aníbal Sá. But to his dismay, Aníbal Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
