With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haroldo Dante saved Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting behind. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Nilmar de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. Severiano Arano made in the 12th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Severiano Arano immediately put the ball in play. After 14 minutes, Severiano Arano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atl. Taquaritinga and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Severiano Arano hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severiano Arano made in the 18th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Nilmar de Moraes. In the 19th minute, one of Peru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peru. In the 21st minute of the game, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Haroldo Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 24th minute of the match. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilmar de Moraes got free with Rolando Noboa in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Loyola in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's zone, Eliseo Mina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Dante came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luz Tejedor to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Sá in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Philippe Alcântara hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 44th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aníbal Sá made a kick off. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Loyola in the 55th minute of the match. Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Dante having to interfere. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. David Lima hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar de Moraes in the 69th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Nilmar de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luz Tejedor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Loyola in the 74th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Tejedor took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Dante. Haroldo Dante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 84th match minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Lima to maneuver through the defense. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. The supporters of Peru booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Aníbal Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Alcocer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Haroldo Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Tenorio got free with Haroldo Dante in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. Peru's Emmanuel Reyes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Haroldo Dante in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The throw-in from Severiano Arano in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
