Tibor Pálffy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Dobrițoiu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Joshua Secada hit a great ball. Ragnar Tähismaa kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Tibor Pálffy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tibor Pálffy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Härmo Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Adam Dobrițoiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 60 played minutes Haljala got a freekick which was hit by Härmo Vides. In the 63rd minute Adam Dobrițoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Härmo Vides in the 64th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Härmo Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Patricio Costa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. 78 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tibor Pálffy. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tibor Pálffy having to make a save. In the 83rd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Usk in the 87th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Haljala got a freekick which was hit by Härmo Vides. Härmo Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match.
