With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. 36 minutes into the match, LOI's goalkeeper George Buturugã had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. In the 37th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sulo Montaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sulo Montaña blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sulo Montaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Özgür Özbay struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LOI. A collision led to LOI getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Semail Ilıca hit a great ball. Sulo Montaña hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bektaş Veli Ülgü in the 57 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 61st minute of play forced LOI's goalkeeper George Buturugã to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LOI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. LOI's Tayyip Taylan was substituted for Ahmet Hamdi Ortan. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. 87 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but George Buturugã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th match minute, LOI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Semail Ilıca to maneuver through the defense. George Buturugã showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Buturugã read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
