An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 16th minute of play forced Maritza's goalkeeper Danail Mitzakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danail Mitzakov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danail Mitzakov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes Maritza's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. In the 29th minute, Facundo Cadaval ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danail Mitzakov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zoltán Hubina in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Danail Mitzakov. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 40 minutes into the match, Maritza's goalkeeper Danail Mitzakov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. 40 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Danail Mitzakov, 3-0. Zoltán Hubina took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Danail Mitzakov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 58 minutes, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luca Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danail Mitzakov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 60th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Danail Mitzakov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 65th minute of play forced Maritza's goalkeeper Danail Mitzakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zoltán Hubina in the 66th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Maritza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Korneliusz Flis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Maritza's Zoltán Hubina ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. In the 82ndth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maritza's Danail Mitzakov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Danail Mitzakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Nikolkov in the 92nd minute of play.
