Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 54th minute of play forced Los kyes's goalkeeper Julio Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Los kyes defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vidal. The Los kyes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vidal should have stopped the shot. Nderim Pepo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Los kyes's Laurgain Jorquera was substituted for Ronaldão de Amaral. In the 67th minute, Joel Gaona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vidal. The goal made the score 2-3. Los kyes's Sergi Solo was substituted for Eutropio Jauregui. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pawel Brożek's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Pawel Brożek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los kyes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pawel Brożek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pawel Brożek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pawel Brożek, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Los kyes's Pawel Brożek in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal.
