In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Zanetti came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 25th minute of play forced F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Zanetti in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. AMERICAN BARÇA's corner Gonzalo Boye fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. AMERICAN BARÇA's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Alejandro Verdu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Boye in the 38th minute of the match. Gonzalo Boye made a great header on F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Bubu Denat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60thth minute of the game Bubu Denat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Verdu having to interfere. In the 68th minute Bubu Denat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alejandro Verdu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute. The supporters of F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marino Ramos in the 75th minute of play. Alejandro Verdu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, F.C. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antoni Villarroel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bubu Denat in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA had won after a very even match.
