The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind 武汉菜鸟队's goalkeeper 石森奕, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Puig made in the 8th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by 武汉菜鸟队's 巩凡国. 巩凡国 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 武冰伟 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 18 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when 庄烨晨 came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 庄烨晨 might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. 庄烨晨 ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute 庄烨晨 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, 武冰伟 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 武汉菜鸟队's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. A collision led to 武汉菜鸟队 getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. 武冰伟 hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by 庄烨晨 in the 26th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 庄烨晨 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th match minute, 武汉菜鸟队 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 康斌常 to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when 庄烨晨 came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 石森奕 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 47 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 石森奕. 武汉菜鸟队's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Puig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 庄烨晨 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by 庄烨晨 in the 53rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when 武冰伟 sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 庄烨晨 in the 58th minute of the match. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 石森奕 having to interfere. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. 石森奕 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 石森奕 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when 武冰伟 sent off a good shot on target. 林潮南 hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 康斌常 got a throw-in 84 minutes in the game and the ball was received by 黄悦渊. After a rather tough play, 武汉菜鸟队's 康斌常 got a free kick in the 85th minute. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. 97 minutes into the game, 武冰伟 lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz.
