A very nice done corner allowed Xavier Figueroa to score against Victoriano Bernaldo in Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goal. 0-1 after 25 minutes. Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Leopoldo Rosa scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Victoriano Bernaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Darryl Buckner sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute, Mariano Lacasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After 93 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Casaus. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 95th minute of play. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
