Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cassius Byrne started the match with the kick off. Geovanildo Luis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 minutes USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomé Neto who took care of the corner kick. 15 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Adhemar Santos came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Geovanildo Luis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 23rd minute of the match Joinville City - FSCMZ got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomé Neto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Tomé Neto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Day in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Karsten Ulbak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joinville City - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Karsten Ulbak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Adhemar Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adhemar Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanildo Luis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Geovanildo Luis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Geovanildo Luis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adhemar Santos in the 59th minute. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis in the 64th minute of play. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 66th minute of play. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Ronaldinho Gaucho was substituted for Adhemar Santos. USA's Diego Bradley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Haji Sarap in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Haji Sarap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Karsten Ulbak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldinho Gaucho in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khalid Parry in the 85th minute of the match. USA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
