The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 18th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Mikolaj Jerzyk successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Newcastle United from getting a goal against them. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 26th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 31 minutes, Julian Obuchowicz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pankracy Malicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Vollmar came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Pacholewski in the 47th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Thomas Vollmar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Olgierd Wojtowicz hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Vollmar. In the 76th minute, Pankracy Malicki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Mikolaj Jerzyk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Adam Pacholewski sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pankracy Malicki got free with Dante Lacasa in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 89th minute Newcastle United were awarded a corner. Zé Paulo Zonta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Mikolaj Jerzyk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Vollmar came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
