In the 13th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Luz Tejedor heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Frichoso in the 17th minute of the match. Kaj Dahlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute. Huacalera FC's Kaj Dahlberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Huacalera FC from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute, Aquilino Ostots ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Frichoso in the 28th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Iratze in the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Huacalera FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Kaj Dahlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquilino Ostots, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Kaj Dahlberg made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aquilino Ostots was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Raimundo Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaj Dahlberg saved Huacalera FC from getting behind. In the 60th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 64th minute Huacalera FC were awarded a corner. Danilo Niguel went to the cornerflag to take it. Huacalera FC's Danilo Niguel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rolando Noboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Huacalera FC's Kaj Dahlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 67th minute of play. The throw-in from Alejandro Ezkerra in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Anthony Alvarado. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Kaj Dahlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 77th minute of play forced Huacalera FC's goalkeeper Kaj Dahlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaj Dahlberg saved Huacalera FC from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaj Dahlberg. Huacalera FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Alejandro Ezkerra made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game.
