Walther Jano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Walther Jano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Walther Jano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Walther Jano made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of The Maquis booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball.

After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walther Jano quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to The Maquis getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Carel Huiting hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pieter Wilhelm in the 91st minute. 91 minutes into the game, Marco Walregt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to The Maquis getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Oliver Smit hit a great ball. 97 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walther Jano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. The Maquis succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mexico had controlled the match.
