Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kjell-Arne Fredriksson hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Kent Näver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Kent Näver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peder Alström in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kent Näver made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 17th minute. A hard shot 18 in the game by Carl Kalfhage from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced INIXET BK's goalkeeper Kent Näver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Sören Gregersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Carl Kalfhage came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the INIXET BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carl Kalfhage couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peder Alström in the 36th minute of the match. Kent Näver showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute, Björn Pihlgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peder Alström to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Alström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kent Näver was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Kent Näver in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute, Carl Kalfhage ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a rather tough play, INIXET BK's Björn Pihlgren got a free kick in the 75th minute. After some careless play in the INIXET BK defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kent Näver. The INIXET BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Näver should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Oscar Hääger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kjell-Arne Fredriksson fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored INIXET BK's protests and gave Kjell-Arne Fredriksson a yellow card for diving instead. Kjell-Arne Fredriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The supporters of INIXET BK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom Lövgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than INIXET BK and deserved their victory. The INIXET BK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
