Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of The Wild Bunch booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Kieran Gordon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, The Wild Bunch's Sture Bergqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henrik Belkå showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when The Wild Bunch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zula Pracki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrik Belkå took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. The Wild Bunch's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that The Wild Bunch's Henrik Belkå managed to reach the ball for a save. 22 minutes into the match, The Wild Bunch's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Henrik Belkå reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrik Belkå showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play forced The Wild Bunch's goalkeeper Henrik Belkå to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrik Belkå took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after The Wild Bunch's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 44th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jacinto Pinto. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alvar Sellberg made a kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fritz Vinström was slow to take the kick. During this time The Wild Bunch's players had a chance to rest. Fritz Vinström made a great header on The Wild Bunch's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, The Wild Bunch's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Henrik Belkå reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Henrik Belkå made a huge save. Henrik Belkå made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, The Wild Bunch's Henrik Belkå got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henrik Belkå made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, The Wild Bunch's Sture Bergqvist got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Calle Kvist hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrik Belkå breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrik Belkå made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
