Chile's Mariano Lacasa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Taka Pika mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Venécia-ES and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taka Pika to maneuver through the defense. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Dino Tavares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Thiago Pliego, 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Natã Quintal. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robinho de Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Nova Venécia-ES booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Pozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robinho de Salles. Nova Venécia-ES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Robinho de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 23rd minute of the match. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natã Quintal in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Natã Quintal. The audience was convinced that Natã Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 45th minute of play forced Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Robinho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Robinho de Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Robinho de Salles made a huge save. In the 57thth minute of the game Natã Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Júlio Valladares hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Orlando Casaus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robinho de Salles. Nova Venécia-ES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orlando Casaus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robinho de Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 64th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Robinho de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Taka Pika. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 75th minute of play. Júlio Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Gonsalve Alabern got a throw-in 80 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luís Gustavo Botelho. After 81 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Indiano. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Robinho de Salles made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Natã Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After 88 minutes, Natã Quintal made it 3-3 with a short kick to the right side. Chile's Thiago Pliego tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Gonsalve Alabern fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Venécia-ES's protests and gave Gonsalve Alabern a yellow card for diving instead. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
