Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gernando Proença went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaltino Couto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 13 minutes into the match, Danone CC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Isaltino Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaltino Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Cristian Sancho got free in front of the goal in the 14th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Isaltino Couto was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 16th minute Gernando Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danone CC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gernando Proença in the 17th minute. The corner led Danone CC's Gernando Proença to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Danone CC's Enéas Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Gernando Proença who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Danone CC's Dário Mesquita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dário Mesquita in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enéas Carneiro in the 40th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaltino Couto having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Velloso came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute of the match Danone CC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dário Mesquita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Mesquita in the 66th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremias Velloso in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was a well-played corner which Radu Podgoreanu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 79 minutes into the match, Danone CC's goalkeeper Isaltino Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enéas Carneiro went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot 91 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Isaltino Couto managed to make a qualified save. Danone CC's players were relieved.
