Emil Scobioalã really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Eugen Doroftei got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 19 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Scobioalã came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of play forced UFC Puturoasa's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Emil Scobioalã sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Musteatã, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. UFC Puturoasa's Dragos Burduja got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandu Musteatã in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Scobioalã to make the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Scobioalã, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. After 58 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. The audience was convinced that Sandu Musteatã's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Emil Scobioalã blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Emil Scobioalã took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 79 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UFC Puturoasa the free kick. The supporters of UFC Puturoasa booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. UFC Puturoasa made a substitution. Alphonso Davies replaced Vladimir Griceanu. After 81 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Doroftei, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Tadeusz Pracki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When UFC Puturoasa's Sandu Musteatã in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 95th minute Tadeusz Pracki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. UFC Puturoasa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
