Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moïse Girerd having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moïse Girerd narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Moïse Girerd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Moïse Girerd came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. Moïse Girerd was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Kevan Brossier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-4 in the 44 minute of play. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chaponnay FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evan Le Moullec to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Moïse Girerd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 78th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 81st minute. A well done corner resulted in Cristian Sancho drilling the ball in to score 1-6 behind Chaponnay FC's goalkeeper. Chaponnay FC made a substitution. Noureddine Ridard replaced Renaud Houzet. Stéphane Eynard hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Moïse Girerd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Moïse Girerd. That made the score 1-7 in the 93 minute of play. Ecuador played a much better game than Chaponnay FC and deserved their victory. The Chaponnay FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
