But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Edelmiro Rencio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play forced MAC4LAN RB's goalkeeper Edelmiro Rencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. In the 60th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edelmiro Rencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. MAC4LAN RB's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Crescencio in the 63rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, MAC4LAN RB's Edelmiro Rencio got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernan Crescencio in the 68th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Rencio saved MAC4LAN RB from getting behind. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. MAC4LAN RB made a substitution. Ubaldo Peruxu replaced Jef Batenburg. MAC4LAN RB's Jens Engbers was substituted for Valgarð Hákonsson. After 81 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Liviu Apăvăloaie who took care of the corner kick. The corner led MAC4LAN RB's Liviu Apăvăloaie to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Liviu Apăvăloaie shot a long shot in the 81st minute and a light blocked Julio Vera hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Liviu Apăvăloaie managed to get in a good position for a shot. MAC4LAN RB's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Apăvăloaie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edelmiro Rencio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernan Crescencio in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Liviu Apăvăloaie during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Liviu Apăvăloaie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MAC4LAN RB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciriaco Ederono didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Liviu Apăvăloaie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. MAC4LAN RB's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
