The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 20 de Março FC's Renan Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save 20 de Março FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, 20 de Março FC's Renan Schmidt got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 66th minute of play forced 20 de Março FC's goalkeeper Renan Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind 20 de Março FC's goalkeeper Renan Schmidt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ioseba Gonzalvez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Waldemar Frænkel fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 20 de Março FC's protests and gave Waldemar Frænkel a yellow card for diving instead. Waldemar Frænkel kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Renan Schmidt made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than 20 de Março FC throughout the match.
