Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Elemér Sárosi sent off a good shot on target. István Gerencsér stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Kisgyőr.F.C.'s Csanád Tímár got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. István Gerencsér showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by János Udvarhelyi in the 40th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Gerencsér having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off.
