Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cosimo Avesani made in the 34th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Elia Mascitti. After 36 minutes, Edoardo Rinaldi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valdieri and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Valdieri getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Edoardo Rinaldi hit a great ball. The supporters of Honduras booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edoardo Rinaldi made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Alberto Andreola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Andreola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edoardo Rinaldi in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Honduras players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
