Jagiellonia Denver

Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. When Nicolae Costa fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jagiellonia Denver's protests and gave Nicolae Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Jagiellonia Denver got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Costa. Eric Gary showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Gary narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Michal Majdoch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luis Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Eric Gary showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Stanford Whitten kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Gary read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Per-Olof Åkesson got a free kick in the 24th minute. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Gary. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Gary having to interfere. After some careless play in the Jagiellonia Denver defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Gary. The Jagiellonia Denver fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Gary should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Eric Gary. Jagiellonia Denver's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Majdoch in the 38th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélio Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolae Costa was shown his second yellow card after 42 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 44th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Gary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Donatello to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Donatello in the 54th minute of play. Eric Gary made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 59th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eric Gary quite easily take care of the ball. In the 63rdth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jagiellonia Denver's Eric Gary was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eric Gary. The goal made the score 0-4. 67 minutes into the match, Hélio Donatello notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 71 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Gary. Jagiellonia Denver's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eric Gary. That made the score 1-6 in the 75 minute of play. In the 80th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Gary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Per-Olof Åkesson charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per-Olof Åkesson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 85 minutes into the game, one of Jagiellonia Denver:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hélio Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Jagiellonia Denver's Per-Olof Åkesson got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Per-Olof Åkesson off the ground. Daniel Zorita walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 96th minute, Cacá Čačak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cacá Čačak kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jagiellonia Denver.
