Benito Madrid charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benito Madrid the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfredo Ferrant received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Elsens came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfredo Ferrant slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. With 17 minutes on the clock, Remie Van Halbeeck commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Waterhoek:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bolivia:s goal. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Daniel Elsens. With a little luck, Waterhoek's Daniel Elsens got control of the ball when Eduardo Fontirroig tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Jacques Buyck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waterhoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bolivia the free kick. The supporters of Bolivia booed when Waterhoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Buyck didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Waterhoek's Daniel Elsens got control of the ball when Julio Chicote tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Eduardo Fontirroig came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Fontirroig couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Waterhoek's Oswald Rymenans got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Mario Fernandino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Elsens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Alfredo Ferrant in the 37th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Waterhoek's Samuel De Haes. Ismael Tejedor hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Eduardo Fontirroig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Daniel Elsens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sven Wollans's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Camilo Freixa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 54 played minutes Waterhoek got a freekick which was hit by Mike Kustermans. Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Fontirroig in the 60th minute of play forced Waterhoek's goalkeeper Daniel Elsens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alfredo Ferrant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfonso de la Cruz scored 3-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Elsens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Elsens having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Sven Wollans notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Bolivia's Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Elsens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso de la Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Ferrant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Daniel Elsens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mario Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eduardo Fontirroig's late challenge caught a Waterhoek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Fontirroig helped the player get up and apologised. Eduardo Fontirroig hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bolivia fully deserved thier win.
