Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Unione Sportiva's goalkeeper Fernado Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiano Ronaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Fernado Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luz Tejedor in the 75th minute. Milagros Fraga succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-5 in the 93rd playminute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiano Ronaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
