Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Northern Lights's Nejat Alp Talayhan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 37 minutes into the match, Northern Lights's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Başaran Ötüken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Özer Geçer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Başaran Ötüken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Başaran Ötüken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 52nd minute of the match. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Başaran Ötüken quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 55th minute of play forced Northern Lights's goalkeeper Başaran Ötüken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Patricio Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Başaran Ötüken narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Nejat Alp Talayhan put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Necat Duha put in a rough tackle. After 70 played minutes Northern Lights got a freekick which was hit by Necat Duha. In the 71st minute, Jose Correa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Secada in the 81st minute of play forced Northern Lights's goalkeeper Başaran Ötüken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Northern Lights getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Özgün Serbülend hit a great ball. When Nejat Alp Talayhan came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Northern Lights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nejat Alp Talayhan couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Northern Lights had won after a very even match.
