The score was now 1-0. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Baia was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Jaspar Van Den Broeck tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Ümit Karan scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Manzanares, making the score, 3-0. Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 44th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Will Deman threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Orlando Tafalla quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaspar Van Den Broeck in the 55th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 60th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waud Huijbrechts during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 63 minutes into the game, Abram Sarmiento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Vítor Baia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Colombia made a substitution. Arnauld Van Impe scored 5-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the game, Antonio Indiano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Brugge United's Laurențiu Roşculeţ quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A sloppy throw-in by Will Deman in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Antonio Indiano. 80 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Arnauld Van Impe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-3. 86 minutes into the match, Abram Secada had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vítor Baia. Brugge United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abram Secada was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-4. 90 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. Sandro Gaúcho hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Colombia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
