When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Albert Heebels took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Ignat Dichkov's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignat Dichkov helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes AC Pitt Bier got a freekick which was hit by Ignat Dichkov. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Ege Vecih didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donny Slot got free with Julio Vera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ege Vecih was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
