Ediberto Righi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 5th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Enrique, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ediberto Righi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 19 minutes in the game Alexis Maldonado did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Alejandro Cabrera. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Luis Sánchez in the 29th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Nicolás Domingo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the match, lןןl La Coconeta's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ediberto Righi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Ediberto Righi in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. But to his dismay, Guido Alvarenga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 86th minute Josemir Lujambio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Jiménez came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josemir Lujambio in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of lןןl La Coconeta's Ediberto Righi. Ediberto Righi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Peru's Eliseo Mina got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
