Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Colombia booed when Jastreb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Forsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Navarro Montoya in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Colombia's Kevin Mastache managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sixto Figueroa in the 92 minute of the game. 92 minutes into the match, Ignacio Mastache dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Navarro Montoya, 3-1.
