The score was now 1-0. AC Roma's Cristoforo Brillante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save AC Roma from getting a goal against them. Facundo Cadaval could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Cristoforo Brillante made a huge save. Alvaro Sforza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 played minutes AC Roma got a freekick which was hit by Armin Ascenzi. AC Roma's Cristoforo Brillante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save AC Roma from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristoforo Brillante firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cristoforo Brillante came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Alvaro Sforza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Mihai Daimacă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Armin Ascenzi charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armin Ascenzi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to AC Roma getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Armin Ascenzi hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of AC Roma booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, AC Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Cristoforo Brillante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Della Francesca in the 68th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla scored 3-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristoforo Brillante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Sforza. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Della Francesca, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 75 minutes, Angelo Donati mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Roma and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Donati to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Sforza in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 84th minute of play forced AC Roma's goalkeeper Cristoforo Brillante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Brillante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristoforo Brillante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 87th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, AC Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Cristoforo Brillante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mexico had played much better football throughout.
