If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinho Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Gábor Hellinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Csaba Sarkady in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Chile's Alan Tamayo. After 20 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinho Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francisco Carballar hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Keszi Athletic's Sabin Calderon was substituted for Anton Kutnjak. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugó Révész in the 56th minute of the match. Claudinho Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Keszi Athletic's Claudinho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 61st minute of play.
