Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gottlieb Hammer's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Karsten Zielinski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Zielinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilhelm Trulsson kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Balus Treter defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karsten Zielinski. The Balus Treter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karsten Zielinski should have stopped the shot. After 41 minutes Balus Treter's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karsten Zielinski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Karsten Zielinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
