The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Bairon Mateluna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Galip Öveç made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Carmelo Ortzi charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carmelo Ortzi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Rincón de los Sauces AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Ortzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Galip Öveç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bairon Mateluna, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Bairon Mateluna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Galip Öveç made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 20 minutes into the match, Bairon Mateluna notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Galip Öveç. Galip Öveç was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute Carmelo Ortzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Alberto Lazcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos José Angulo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Galip Öveç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bairon Mateluna in the 33rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Bairon Mateluna took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Galip Öveç to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Rincón de los Sauces AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Jerold didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bairon Mateluna made a kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Bairon Mateluna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Galip Öveç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st match minute, Rincón de los Sauces AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Mosen to maneuver through the defense. Galip Öveç came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Bairon Mateluna. But to his dismay, Bairon Mateluna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 67 minutes into the game, Inocencio Mosca threw the ball into play from the sideline. Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Freddy Maria quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A sloppy throw-in by Aurelio Antonioletti in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Ismael Mosen. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Aurelio Antonioletti managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ismael Mosen in the 69 minute of the game. After 70 minutes of play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Bairon Mateluna made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Galip Öveç was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augusto Haritzeder hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Rincón de los Sauces AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Estevan Hamdorf came free, but Galip Öveç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Ismael Mosen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Galip Öveç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bairon Mateluna in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Bairon Mateluna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters rose to their feet, but Bairon Mateluna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Galip Öveç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Galip Öveç showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bairon Mateluna in the 85th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Bairon Mateluna sped through Rincón de los Sauces AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Galip Öveç. Many of Rincón de los Sauces AFC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Rincón de los Sauces AFC may have spent more time on the ball, but Club Deportes Santa Cruz were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
