After a rather tough play, Fajteri's Armido Mikluž got a free kick in the 5th minute. Klavdijo Anžlovar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Ricardo Zorita skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Abram Luque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vojkan Lapuh having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Fajteri got a freekick which was hit by Armido Mikluž. The supporters of Fajteri booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes of play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vojkan Lapuh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Igor Goričan's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Goričan helped the player get up and apologised. Igor Goričan kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Vojkan Lapuh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 26th minute of play. Milko Aubelj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th match minute, Fajteri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armido Mikluž to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milko Aubelj in the 47th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Milko Aubelj stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. After some careless play in the Fajteri defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vojkan Lapuh. The Fajteri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vojkan Lapuh should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Fajteri's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vojkan Lapuh came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Luque got free with Vojkan Lapuh in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vojkan Lapuh having to interfere. After 71 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. In the 77th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Leguizamo to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st match minute, Fajteri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiljan Muhić to maneuver through the defense. Vojkan Lapuh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Luque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fajteri's attentive Giuliano Černilec managed to snatch the ball when Luis Rubio made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. With a little luck, Fajteri's Vojkan Lapuh got control of the ball when Abram Luque tried to sneak it across the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Fajteri's Milko Aubelj sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Salvador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
