In the 16th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Tasso. Militros F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 20th minute, Didi de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Militros F.C.'s Filipe Zanussi in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rigoberto Mina took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sandro Tasso. Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Militros F.C.'s Diguinho da Rocha got a free kick in the 36th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filipe Zanussi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Sandro Tasso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Militros F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper Sandro Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Militros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Zanussi in the 67th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. That made the score 1-3 in the 88 minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Didi de Sena came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Tasso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Venezuela had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
