Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Caio Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Ivo Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 15 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Guterres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Raul Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Ivo Guterres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 22nd minute of play. SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 26th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ivo Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Nuno Bragança managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freiburg 09's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Bragança was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Raul Leal put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Ivo Guterres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute. In the 73rd match minute, SC Freiburg 09 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Martínez to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 09's goalkeeper Ivo Guterres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 76th minute, Raul Leal made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Leal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Freiburg 09's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Guterres came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abílio Passos in the 85th minute of the match. Raul Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Leal in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Abílio Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Freiburg 09.
