Romo Cardarda's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romo Cardarda helped the player get up and apologised. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Manex Boliaga, made in the 61st minute of the game.
