Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steffe De Hont ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 3rd minute Steffe De Hont shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steffe De Hont's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steffe De Hont in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. 倪德景 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 倪德景 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After 12 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Niubility FC's Steffe De Hont. But to his dismay, Steffe De Hont quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play forced Niubility FC's goalkeeper 倪德景 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steffe De Hont in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Niubility FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Steffe De Hont managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niubility FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steffe De Hont was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita managed to work through Niubility FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Daniel Zorita dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steffe De Hont got free with Julio Vera in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 44th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 倪德景 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Niubility FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. 倪德景 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steffe De Hont in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 倪德景 made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with 倪德景 in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the match, Niubility FC's Steffe De Hont sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball.
