Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Danijel Petrlin got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Danijel Petrlin came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Danijel Petrlin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Danijel Petrlin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Maksimir's Antonio Križanec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maksimir's Miodrag Rozga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 19th minute, Danijel Petrlin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 24th minute, Danijel Petrlin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maksimir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 32nd minute Danijel Petrlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maksimir's attentive Miodrag Rozga managed to snatch the ball when Alex Chicote made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Danijel Petrlin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Miodrag Rozga made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Antonio Križanec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Miodrag Rozga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Alex Chicote quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Antonio Hrste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute of the match Marin Kuharić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Danijel Petrlin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Danijel Petrlin came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Jurišić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maksimir made a substitution. Gradimir Antonić replaced Miodrag Rozga. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danijel Petrlin in the 67th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danijel Petrlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Maksimir's Maksim Delić was substituted for Marin Kuharić. Maksimir's Adrijan Grbović was substituted for Danijel Petrlin. After 72 played minutes, Maksimir's Adam Dodaj shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maksimir reached it. In the 74th minute, Antonio Hrste got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Salvador Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Salvador Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert got a free kick in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Adrijan Grbović had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrijan Grbović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Maksimir's Šandor Dajčić got a free kick in the 90th minute. Maksimir's Gradimir Antonić managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 95 minute of the game.
