Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Emílio Bandeira sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 4 minutes, Emílio Bandeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cassandros Elite Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Bandeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavo Pinto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lisandro Guerreiro. The audience was convinced that Rolf Hamberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Veiga in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolf Hamberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Rolf Hamberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolf Hamberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolf Hamberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Rolf Hamberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Rolf Hamberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cassandros Elite Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ogün Sarper didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavo Pinto made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Olavo Pinto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 75thth minute of the game Rolf Hamberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Olavo Pinto managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the match, Cassandros Elite Team's goalkeeper Olavo Pinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 81st minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. 85 minutes into the match, Cassandros Elite Team's goalkeeper Olavo Pinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Rolf Hamberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Olavo Pinto in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Cassandros Elite Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Olavo Pinto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 93rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.
