Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Karol Dytrych took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Karol Dytrych could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Gwidon Juchno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszek Gdowski to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moise Zbârcea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Calistrat Brezoi came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the TOP-STAKES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calistrat Brezoi couldn't finish the play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Zbyszek Gdowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. TOP-STAKES's supporters rose to their feet, but Zbyszek Gdowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moise Zbârcea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 77th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Korytkowski in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Venezuela's Alex Chicote seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alex Chicote the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Venezuela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alex Chicote had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
